207B Wrench Set - Condensing Stanleys

$129.00

Four wrenches specifically designed to tighten the packing nuts on condensing pumps.  Manufactured out of stainless steel.   Openings are 7/8", 1", 1-1/2" and 1-3/4".

Notes:

These packing nut wrenches are designed for Stanley pumps only and not for engines.  A properly packed pump should be tightened hand-tightened until the packing feels solid.  If the pump leaks, then further tightening with these wrenches is used.  A 60o or about 1/6th of a turn at a time is all that is needed to properly compress the packing material.  If the pump continues to leak after two or three applications of this process pump packing is probably used & in need of replacing.  Other valve components may be worn or damaged.

The use of these wrenches for larger, heavier packing nuts, such as those on the engine, require a larger wrench.  The packing nuts in the engine should also be hand tightened before ¼ to ½ turn of the nut with a wrench.  Packing nut gland wrenches are numbers 205A, 205B, and 205C for the 10, 20, and 30 HP engines in the Vintage Steam Products catalog.
